Tucked away safely after defending Trump and attacking liberals, the buggy whip guy invents a role and a position for me. He swiftly ignores the facts of the virus--as he has since well before it killed hundreds of thousands of Americans.

I volunteer with first and fifth graders. I have continued to work on line during the pandemic, and have spent 15 years now working with children who are struggling to learn to read and master math. I know very well that I could be more effective if I could sit beside the kids I volunteer with. I know much better than mr buggywhip the limitations of on-line learning and teaching--I've been doing it for months.

What mr buggywhip forgets is that teaching requires experienced teachers. Many of the millions of teachers in this country are over fifty. While children may not be terribly susceptible to dying from COVID, the same cannot be said about teachers and school district employees. Seventy two have died in New York alone.

Of course, a more competent response from the Trump administration could have increased the odds of returning to school more quickly. They could have coordinated a Federal effort to limit the spread--starting with a commitment to wear masks and maintain social distances. They could have established a baseline of health and safety plans, and provided for Federal funding, for measures that could have made school sites safer. Improved air circulation has long been identified as the most important of those measures.

The Trump administration has done none of that, and mrbuggywhip has defended their incompetent efforts and attacked their critics. As with many of the "religious" conservatives, he is incapable of shame, or, apparently, learning,

With deaths nearing 400,000 and projected to reach 500,000 or more by March, I want to again remind people of the absurd comments of the righties on the forum. Of course there is the comment by Isobars that the flu was more deadly. Mrgybe attacked me repeatedly, mis-stating my comments and sources. But what can you expect of someone who has rationalized the incompetent and deadly Trump response by attacking his critics?

Quote:
.....and I'm sure it will not have escaped your attention that the two responses thus far continue with sad attempts to score political points. That's what they do here simply because they are obsessed with undermining any action taken by the current administration, and will gleefully point to any perceived missteps whether factual or fair. The rest of us will hope that measures being taken here and around the world will be successful and we will take the sensible precautions you mention.

Of course Trump and Trumpists undermined the sensible precautions that would have saved tens of thousands of lives. The right wing fails to comprehend the difference between liberty and license.

The latest reports are that the immunity conferred by vaccines will only last 5 months. Contrary to the failed anti-government religion of the loony right, the government is a vital partner in managing and eventually ending ythis pandemic.

I just want my damned vaccination so *I*, not my idiot governor who is standing in my way or the incompetent VA that removed my prostate 16 years ago yet "didn't know I have prostate cancer", get a better shot at choosing how and when I die. My age and comorbidities qualified me for it days to weeks ago in most states.

You guys who think you want government-run socialized medicine with no private alternatives are woefully misinformed.

Don’t worry Mike, you assured us it was less of a problem than the flu.

Dood! What ya 'fraid of man? Covid is no worse than the flu, right? Ain't dat wha cha said? LOL. Now you want to be first in line for the vaccine. What a wiener!!

#1 - The vaccine roll out is beinig done by the States, not the Feds due to Trumps failures and inaction. Comparing that to a national health care plan is apples to oranges. Not suprised you would make the comparison however.

#2 - Who here ever said that a there could be no private oprion under a national health care plan? Nobody, other than you trying to gin up trouble.

#3 - Does not every country with a national health care plan allow private care for those who can afford it? Yes. Don't create conflict where none exists little man.

isobars, have you received your $600 yet? If not, I'm sure that "The Donald" won't forget you.

isobars has been talking about his impending end, that is just around the corner, for years now. Maybe the Trump Administration has already written him off thinking he's on death's bed and not worth saving. With all his rabid disdain about the VA for years now, I can see why they might brush him off and not come to his rescue.

I just want my vaccine when it's due. I qualify for it now in most states, but not under Governor Inslee, who still bans outdoor recreation. That's why I'm also investigating my VA options (as long as I'm in charge of what little VA care I accept, they'll have a hard time following up on their repeated attempts to finish me off.)

I apologize profusely to that great humanitarian Chandler for not dying on his (or the VA's, or the Mayo Clinic's, or the federal government's prostate cancer standards of care YOUR doctor bows to) schedule. I chose instead to study my options, pick and choose among other legitimate options and providers, and thus add many years of health and vigor to my life. Even if you clowns want to put the U.S. government in charge of your own life when the shit hits the fan, you owe it to your wife, parents, and kids to vet every important instruction they prescribe and to seek other care if and when necessary. I'm not only able to walk but still alive expressly due to my own effort and diligence. Your diminishment of that is not only low but is likely to bite you (or your child) in the ass some day.

Anyone who doesn't know that Medicare for Everyone expressly forbids a public healthcare insurance option isn't paying any attention to the luscious moving lips of Pelosi, Sanders, Hillary, AOC, Obama, et.al. when they discuss their objective of healthcare reform: 100% mandatory socialized medicine, with no alternatives. (Hint: Not one of you wants that for your family.)

I gotta wonder, especially on MLK Day, how many of you fake news hounds even know that Biden's new DOJ Civil Right czar not only claims blacks are superior to whites just because of their extra melanin and that for ANY job -- your airline pilot, your child's spinal transplant surgeon, your banker, etc. -- hiring must be based first and foremost on skin color. Skill, training, experience, ethics, character, etc. hardly matter ... as long as their skin is dark.

Search the WWWeb (not via Google, if you want the whole story) on Biden DOJ Civil Rights leader pick Kristen Clarke.
