To my Wind brothers, FYI if you have a rental contract on OBX:
The North Carolina Real Estate Commission on Thursday afternoon posted an opinion on its website essentially saying real estate companies need to return vacation renters money. ****
This was posted a month ago, the key to this release and wording IS ,the commission posted a opinion.
Means to me no obligation to anyone, to conform to its “opinion”.

Has anyone received a refund from a realtor who had a reservation , house rental at the Outer Banks after the Island was closed to anyone but permanent residents ?
If so which realty ?

I spoke with Hatteras Realty. They are offering
A. Rebook, probably some restrictions apply.
B. A refund of rental monies, if Dare County has the islands closed to visitors.

Near the end of May now it’s closed. The closing date of the reservation needs to pass, till A B apply.
The refund would be minus the travel insurance , this has been used ,and paid to the independent insurance co.
Any insurance discussion is a separate issue to A B options.

News today that Hatteras Realty is reaching out and refunding monies ,if within the closure time

This is good to keep in mind for future reservations.
