Hi Gang,

Take a look at the locked gate photos of Dougs below.

Notice the recent welding for the blocking posts and the double chains and padlocks on the gate. Authorities only spend this sort of time and money when they feel they are dealing with real scofflaws. And that is how some windsurfers are starting to be viewed.

Dougs, like the Hatchery, had a couple of sailors and one kiter who felt they that they knew better than the health professionals about the dangers of asymptomatic COVID-19 carriers. So for days they parked, rigged and sailed at Dougs. That lead to another major launch site being gated.

I would not be surprised if the parking lot across from the Klickitat sandbar soon gets a permanent no parking sign.

If you feel you are the true expert about COVID... fine. But rather than getting our launch sites gated please dig up an old issue of the 3.5 mag or just explore the Gorge. There are lots of long-forgotten and isolated launch sites. Sure you might be breaking some rules launching at them but at least you will not be the person getting another major site locked up.

Mike Godsey

Hey Mike

Never seen anything like that in the last 29 years!

Look at the river in that picture.

Looking forward to some rides this year, maybe at some semi secret
places after the Governors open things back up a little.

I just saw that "some" WA State parks will re-open May 5, but some in rural areas may stay closed to prevent an influx of tourists.
Anyone have more info on how this will affect the Hatchery and/or Doug's?
