|

I'm 165# intermediate sailor. About 50/50 at best on jibes. I sailed a 103L Flow for years and it's delaminated. I liked sailing a 5.0 to 6.0 on that board and am mostly a slalom sailor. I've got a 85 L Flow for higher wind
I've got a 131 Carve for light wind with a 7.5 Retro. Seems like the wide board is slow to come around in a jibe. Thus I'm hesitant to get anothr wide board for 5.0 to 6.0 range.
I've got an Open Ocean about 100L and it seems a little slow to get up and go..So now looking for new or used board's fun to slalom and jibes well that's around 103L.
All suggestions welcome. |

So for Gorge sailing a slalom board wouldn't be my 1st choice (though I
used a dandy GEM slalom board for several years in the Gorge as my big board). I have to say though that a huge wave board might be more fun
for light Gorge winds. How about a Goya 105 Custom Pro Surfwave
Thruster. If they carried though from the other Surfwave thrusters it'll be
planey, fast, and turny.
I am a happy Goya (and Open Ocean) user in the Gorge

p.s. it's not going to feel anything like your Flow. if you loved the ride you
got from that Board, maybe you should ignore what I just wrote.

Thanks Craig,
Planey fast and turny sounds pretty good. Thanks
You have any thought on a JP magic ride? Thinking a free ride board would be an all around user friendly board. |

You want a FSW, ie Tabou 3s, or many others. New or used? Single tri quad?
Possibly a wave board that’s freestyle wave oriented or a freewave as a Fanatic ,STB.
I would point you towards a Goya One, Big Winds in HR , can help. _________________ K4 fins

No experience with that JP, but I ride with guys who own Goya One and Tabou 3s , and they rip in light Gorge winds (light defined as 6.5 on down
to about 5.2). Then again those guys would probably rip on a Home Depot Door. I ride a huge OO ~110 ltrs in conditions from about 6.7 down to 5.2,
and I love that board, but since you've tired a big OO and didn't get what you wanted, take a look at any of those Boards U2 suggested, if you
can find any of those used (they're pretty popular).

p.s. I weigh in at about 185 and 6'3"

Any 100 liter FSW.
Fastest and liveliest maybe JP.
Smoothest riding RRD or Tabou.
Any 100 liter freeride board. |

The next Gorge swap meet is scheduled for May 17. Watch Windance for updates on whether it will occur. That will be by far your best shot at finding good selections at excellent prices. Talk to Bart at the CGW2 trailers about choices; he knows boards like the back of his hand. |

Any 100liter Freeride , no.
Swap meet in mid May, possible, likely hood with any social distance controls , how ?
They may not cancel anytime soon, I consider this a very fool-hardly (PC term) venue. _________________ K4 fins

The Mistral Flow is from 2002 give or take.
You are recommending the same board character , that’s 18yo, and while a nice enough board is outdated to say the least ? Back then it may have been called a convertible, because Freestyle Wave Wasn’t Termed yet, FSW. _________________ K4 fins
