I used to occasionally sail Berkeley when Third or Sherman wasn't blowing; always launching from His Lordships.
Since His Lordships closed; I have not returned for a variety of reasons. I had heard that it became a homeless encampment; with a bunch of people in RV's camping there permanently; and then that they had gotten those people out; but now it was a construction site and fenced off.
Now, with the current COVID crises/ social distancing; I'm afraid to drive 50 minutes from my house, be the only one there and looks good so I rig up; and then get a ticket as you're no longer allowed to sail there.
Would love to have feedback as to whether Berkely / His Lordships is still a go and where you park/ launch these days.
Thanks for the feedback

His L0rds launch cove is open. Parking not too bad. except tomorrow is the 4th. However no fireworks this year. Still same riprap to clamber over and more fisherfolk given pier closure. Also, you have a few more yards to walk since the main lot and the turnaround circle are locked off. But less than 50 yards total. Hope that resolves? Meanwhile most of us HLS regulars have been at Pt. Isabel lately due to slightly better winds. |
