How is the wind and is equipment available for rent in Cairns or
Brisbane, Australia ?
Any info on windsurfing these places in August-September greatly appreciated. |

Hey,
I was just in Cairns last Dec. I went there primarily for a SCUBA trip (Most Great Barrier Reef Dive trips depart from Cairns). I didnt see anything that wouldve led me to feel its a good windsurfing spot. I saw no Winsdurf spots, the wind wasnt noticeable and I didnt see any nice launch points (The cost there seems to have mangroves and swamps and a long boat ride is required to reach the open ocean and reef). So from memory I wouldnt say Cairns is a great Windsurf spot. But on the other hand, the SCUBA and Nightlife there are unparalleled. Enjoy your trip!!!
Ive never been to Brisbane.
Sydney does have some good windsurfing (wind & Waves). |
