I just bought a 7.4 NP Supersonic sail.
The second time I used it I snapped a mast and ripped the mast sleeve (about a 5 gash).
Rather than pay the big $$$s to have it repaired, does anyone know any good quick fixes???

Mark.

Tampa.

If the monofilm is damaged you can put on mylar tape. For the luff sleeve, you can iron on a cloth patch.

for the mast, you have to buy a new one.

Mark:
I dont have an inexpensive solution to your sail problem but for what its worth, a guy I sail with busted his mast & ripped up the sail(luff & mono). It was an NP Supersonic and I busted three(yes 3!) high-end carbon masts with a NP V8(99 sheartip). Basically the same sail as the Supersonic. These sails require a lot of downhaul. What was the mast stiffness? I switched to a softer mast. Not as responsive, but the mast stopped breaking. Been sailing V8s, VX2s & VX3s for several yrs and NEVER busted a mast until I got a sheartip.
