Its been ten years since I sailed in West Palm, but heres what I remember.
From north to south, your best bets for ocean sailing are Jupiter Inlet Park, Double Roads (Juno Beach), Singer Island (ocean mall), Palm Beach (the public beach), and Lake Worth Pier. There are numerous parks along the intracoastal where you can have some nice flatwater sailing if youre into that. Theres also a big lake (Mangonia) near downtown West Palm if youre looking for flat and fresh water.
If you want to drive north a bit, Ft. Pierce Inlet Park is a great ocean spot, and Stuart Causeway is a nice flatwater spot.
The wind this time of year is totally frontally-driven so its pretty hit or miss. As a cold front moves through we get nice steady 20+ northerly winds for one to three days, but after the front passes it can be dead calm then slowly clocks around back to the south until the next cold front. Watch the Florida forecasts on our site (and the weather channel for those cold fronts). And cross your fingers - the frequency of cold fronts is generally about every two weeks, plus or minus a week. Good luck.
