I sail a Bic Tempo in a lake just for fun in 15 Knots of wind (average) Right now I use a waist Harness. It is a Seat much better?
I am planing to buy a formula like board soon to be able to go upwind better and expand my cruising area. Would be a waist or seat better then ??
Thank you |

Try both. DaKines Surf Seat, for example, combines a waist harness with a lightweight seat to lock it into place and support us from tailbone to mid-back. Its an extremely popular harness. Waist harnesses are best suited to wave sailing.

generally seats are best for slalom sailing, and waist for B&J/wave.
Waist is also better for learning, but since you did that already, you would grow in your sailing with a seat.
it will feel different, but will make it easier to rake that slalom sail back and cruise. |

Hi Spyder. Thank you for your reply. I am new to this site (and to shortboards) but I found your comments in many parts and always very good. Regarding harness. For Formula like boards is seat also better. I see a lot of waist harness in the board manufacturers sites photos.
Thanks again
