Lake Charloviox in northern lower michigan offers plenty of good sailing for michigan. There is 3 different public beach launch sights, you can choose the best one by the direction of the wind that day. During summer there is a pretty good consistant wind at the same time every day. from 2pm-5pm with a sail in the size of 6.0 or larger, you can have a great day of sailing. some days your day on the water can be flat out amazing. i have experienced flat water with supurb wind. it is hard to find a place that will stay flat and reach those speeds. let me know if there is any other good spots to sail in Michigan. |

Tawas Bay on Lake Huron is a great place to sail. Its shallow and usually flat. As soon as us sail past the point you can get some great waves. 15 to 20 mph winds is common. NE to S winds are the best. Always looking for other sites. |
