Canary Islands

Anyone out there been sailing in the Canaries? Im thinking of going in July. Im looking for the island / town where i can stay on or near the windsurfing beach - which would have strong, reliable wind, light to moderate wave action, where there are non-windsurfing activities (hiking, mt. biking, nightlife) and with a beach that my girlfriend can hang out on without constantly being pelted with sand, and decent options for accommodations. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
