palmdale, ca sailing

i see that there is a wind sensor in palmdale? i guess that means there is sailing there? is it land sailing or water sailing? and if there is actually sailing to be had on the water where is the launch?

I emailed the staff at iWindsurf.com to ask the same info. Like where this site is (there are no directions). I also think its odd that the sensor is polled once every hour or two. Im discouraged to see the wind direction all over the place.

I just moved from Paldale to Long Beach, and I can tell you the only sailing there is of the illegal kind. There can be no doubt that the wind consistantly blows, and blow it does. However, there is no place to legally launch a board. Although there is one tempting spot that I drove by daily on my tredge to work. There is the California Aquaduct! Id like to see someone with a few free days to spend in jail take on this body of water! Good luck, and be careful. Should you go fir it, make sure you take pictures!
