Wendy’s Voice Menu Options:
Useful Tip: Hit the '#' sign to skip to the next item. This is especially important when playing the very detailed forecasts and you’re primary interest is for a forecast further in the list. Just remember, “pound ahead”. The '*' returns to the main menu.
Press 1: Wind Reports: Hitting '1' plays your 10 pre-selected wind reports in any order you choose. If you have access to the web, you can select from any of the 1,000 beaches available and change your selection order as often as you wish (see "Configure Wendy" from the "MyiW" tab).
Press 2: Forecasts: Plays today's forecasts for the region followed by beach-specific forecasts for each of the sites in your wind report list. Extended forecasts are read next. Use the “#” key to skip ahead to the next forecast.
Press 3: Extended forecasts: Plays the extended forecasts directly.
Press 5: Register this phone: If calling from a frequently used phone, just hit '5' and Wendy will memorize your number; next time you call from that phone, you won't need to enter your PIN.
Press 6: Choose start option: Option '6' allows you to choose your default startup feature: Wind Reports or Forecasts. You’ll hear your default startup feature first when you call the service.
Press 7: Help prompting on / off : Option ‘7’ selects how much help Wendy provides. Initially, you'll want her to tell you about each selection and remind you to "pound forward". After a couple of calls, you can turn off the detailed instructions by hitting '7'.
Press 8: Wind report voicing on / off: Option '8' controls a feature unique to Wendy. Let's say you are listening to your wind reports and Sandy Hook is the third in the list. After you've heard the conditions for the Hook, you might want to know what has happened over the last three hours. Hitting '3' will stop the wind report summary, play the Hook's detailed wind history, and then resume the wind report summary where you left off. If you are not familiar with which site is which number in your Selection Order, you can turn on "Wind Report Voicing" so that she says "...,2 Kalmus..., 3 Sandy Hook..., etc." Whether you have Voicing on or off, you can always hit a site's key for it’s detailed wind history. Tip: you don't need to wait to hear a site's Wind Report to get the history -- as soon as the wind reports start, hit the key for the site you want.
