1. What do I need to access Wendy?

To access Wendy, you need a Voice-Only, FX, Wireless Web, or Wind Pager membership. You also need your own Wendy PIN (Personal Identification Number). If you are a member, click here to get your Wendy PIN. If you are not a member, you may sign up for membership. Please note that Wendy airtime is billed per minute for all members. You must have a valid credit card on file at all times.

2. How do I set up Wendy with my favorite sensors & forecasts?

First make sure you are logged in to the website with your username and password. You can then click on the "myAccount" link at the top of the webpage. Then, click Configure Wendy. The Wendy set-up wizard will walk you through the process. If you have carefully gone through the process (it is pretty self-explanatory), and you are still puzzled, please contact us.

3. What is the 800# to use to call Wendy?

The 800# to call Wendy is provided after you sign up and receive your PIN. If you are a current Voice-Only, FX, Wireless Web, or Wind Pager member, click here for your Wendy PIN. If you are not a member, you will need to choose a membership option.

4. How are Wendy Voice Access charges billed?

All calls to Wendy are billed per minute on your account statement. Calls are compiled and then billed once per month to your credit / debit card. To see your billing statement, make sure you are logged in, click on the "myAccount" link at the top of the webpage, and then click View Statement on the left nav.

5. What are my registered phone numbers?

Wendy is smart. Her callerID function will automatically recognize your "registered phone numbers" and begin reading your personal wind reports and forecasts without the need to enter your PIN. A "registered phone number" is a phone number that you frequently call from. You can set up your cellphone, home phone, work phone, etc. to all work as "Registered Phone Numbers" with Wendy.

To set up your registered phone numbers, click on the "myAccount" link at the top of the webpage, and then click "Configure Wendy" on the left nav. Or, the next time you call Wendy, you could simply press "5" to register the phone you are calling from. After pressing "5", the number will be repeated for you to verify that this is indeed the phone number you are wanting to register. All calls to Wendy from this registered number will by billed to your account.

*RARE COMPLICATION REGARDING WORK PHONE NUMBERS -- Please note that some employers' phone systems include trunks and complicated phone dial-out systems whereby your dial-out number that reads out on your caller ID is not always the same. If you happen to work somewhere with another wind fanatic on staff -- who may also call the Wendy 800# for wind info -- and you have one of these multiple trunk phone systems whereby you both could theoretically be calling at times apparantly from the same CallerID phone number -- it may be a good idea for both of you to delete your work numbers from your own "Registered Phone Number" lists on your Configure Wendy page. (Then, instead, from work, you and the other fanatic would be able to just type in your PIN numbers - to prevent any confusion.) This is a good safeguard in this rare situation -- because if by any chance your multiple-trunk phone system were to report to the Wendy system that you are calling from your co-worker's registered phone number, that phone number will be billed. And vice-versa. This circumstance should be extremely rare - but it is a possible scenario, and therefore it is mentioned here.

6. How do I use the pound sign on my phone to skip ahead?

Hit the "#" sign to skip to the next item when on the phone with Wendy. This is especially important when playing the very detailed forecasts if you are primarily interested in a particular forecast for a sensor further on down the list that is slowly being read off by Wendy. Just remember, “pound ahead and the next one will be read”.

"#" = Skip Ahead.

Other Note: Hit the "*" (Star) key to return to the main menu.
