...gale watch in effect from wednesday morning through wednesday
evening...
the national weather service in marquette has issued a gale
watch...which is in effect from wednesday morning through
wednesday evening.
* wind and waves during the gale watch: expect sustained winds
of up to 25 knots from the southwest...with gusts up to 41
knots. the largest expected significant waves will be 8 feet
with a maximum wave height of up to 12 feet possible.
* timing: the maximum winds are expected around 10 am wednesday
with the largest waves expected around 5 pm wednesday.

precautionary/preparedness actions...
a gale watch is issued when the risk of gale force winds of 34 to
47 knots has significantly increased...but the specific timing
and/or location is still uncertain. it is intended to provide
additional lead time for mariners who may wish to consider
altering their plans.
