...a strong thunderstorm will affect southeastern sawyer and western
price counties...
at 630 am cdt...a strong thunderstorm was 10 miles south of winter...
or 15 miles northeast of ladysmith...moving east at 40 mph.
wind gusts up to 45 mph...pea size hail...heavy downpours...and
frequent cloud to ground lightning can be expected with this storm.
this storm will remain over mainly rural areas of western price and
southeastern sawyer counties...including the following locations:
ojibwa...cranberry lake...wilson lake near phillips...kennan and
connors lake.
seek shelter inside a sturdy building and away from windows until
this storm passes.

...patchy fog through 8 am early today...
patchy fog has developed over portions of central and southeast iowa
early today. the fog has occasionally reduced visibility to one quarter
mile in ames and to under two miles near pella to ottumwa. early today
ground fog and patchy fog will continue to develop in low lying areas
and river valleys over the next hour.
if you are traveling early today and encounter fog...slow down...
use low beam headlights and be prepared for reduced visibility.
the fog should burn off by 8 am today.

...thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall moving back into north
central wisconsin this morning...
at 556 am cdt...doppler radar indicated the leading edge of a west
to east line of strong thunderstorms extended from the willow
reservoir to lac du flambeau. the line of storms extended to
eastern minnesota. movement was east at 30 mph.
half inch hail and winds gusts to 40 mph will be possible with a few
of these storms. locally heavy rainfall can also be expected with
these storms.
locations impacted include...
rhinelander...crandon...eagle river...lac du flambeau...tomahawk...
phelps...boulder junction...woodboro...tipler and parrish.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
