...areas of fog expected to develop overnight and become locally
dense...

areas of fog will develop around or after midnight tonight across
central and eastern massachusetts into rhode island. some of the
fog may become locally dense, with visibility reduced to one
quarter of a mile or less at times, especially along coastal
areas. this will result in hazardous driving conditions that may
linger into the early part of the wednesday morning commute.

motorists should be extra cautious overnight into early wednesday
morning, drive with low beam headlights and watch out for rapidly
changing visibility.
