forsyth nc-guilford nc-
341 pm edt sat aug 15 2020

...the flood advisory remains in effect until 515 pm edt for
northeastern forsyth and northwestern guilford counties...

at 336 pm edt, doppler radar indicated the heavy rain across the
area has ended. however, up to 2 to 4 inches have fallen during the
past 24 hours, and this combined with additional showers and storms
may result in minor flooding in the advisory area.

some locations that will experience flooding include...
greensboro, winston-salem, kernersville, summerfield, stokesdale,
walkertown, rural hall, pfafftown, belews creek and stanleyville.

additional rainfall of up to an inch is expected over the area. this
additional rain will result in minor flooding.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. the water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. move to higher ground.
