...prepare for very cold conditions...

if you plan to venture outside early tuesday morning, prepare for
cold wind chills.

for many areas this will be the coldest air mass since january
2018. with temperatures early tuesday in the mid and upper 20s,
plus north to northeast winds of 6 to 12 mph inland and as high as
15 to 20 mph along the coast, wind chills will be down in the mid
and upper teens between 5 and 9 am tuesday.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

be sure to dress in warm clothes before you head outside. if you
plan to drive, bring along warm clothes and a winter weather
survival kit.

isolated snow shower activity will continue at times focused near
the tennessee border and at higher elevations through tonight. an
additional dusting to an inch of snow is possible at some
locations above 3500 feet, especially across the smoky mountains.
reduced visibility and snow covered roads may lead to hazardous
driving conditions at higher elevations.
