...gusty winds possible across the middle texas coastal waters as
scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms develop today...
scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to
develop and increase in coverage through today. some of these
storms may become strong enough to produce wind gusts up to 33
knots. brief moderate to heavy rainfall may limit visibilities to
less than 2 miles at times. occasional to frequent cloud to
surface lightning will also be possible in and around
thunderstorms. mariners, especially in small craft, are urged to
keep up to date with the latest information as some of these
storms may strengthen further and warrant special marine
warnings.

nm...
waters from freeport to matagorda ship channel tx from 20 to 60 nm...
at 309 am cdt...severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts
was located along a line extending from near brazos a110 to 7 nm
southeast of east breaks 228...moving north at 15 knots.
hazard...waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.
source...radar indicated.
impact...waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
hazardous seas. small craft could be damaged in briefly
higher winds and suddenly higher waves.
