...the national weather service in medford has issued a flood watch 
for the following rivers in oregon...

  rogue river near agness affecting curry county...
  coquille river at coquille affecting coos county...

.a strong frontal system will move into the area tonight bringing
periods of moderate to heavy rainfall through wednesday night.
overall, rain amounts will be 3 to 6 inches. in some areas inland 
from the coast, snowmelt will combine to add inflows into area 
streams, creeks and rivers. rainfall amounts could be high enough 
to cause small stream flooding and for mainstem rivers to get 
near flooding.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

landslides and debris flows are possible during this event. areas 
below steep slopes and in canyons are at risk from landslides.

do not drive through flooded areas or roads. the water may be too 
deep or there may be unseen damage to the roadway. 

a flood watch means that flooding is possible but not imminent in the
watch area. prepare to take immediate action if flooding is observed 
or a warning is issued.

inches in the coast ranges. in some areas inland from the coast,

* portions of northern california and southwest oregon... 
  including the following areas...in northern california... 
  western siskiyou county. in southwest oregon...curry county 
  coast and eastern curry county and josephine county. 

* from 10 pm pst this evening through late wednesday night

* moderate to heavy rainfall will move into the area tonight and
  persist through wednesday night. expect total rainfall of 3 to 6
  inches with locally up to 8 inches in the coast ranges. inland
  from the coast, snowmelt may also lead to higher inflows into
  area waterways.

* flood waters may flow across roads...inundate low spots...and 
  flow into buildings. landslides and debris flows are likely in 
  steep terrain and over burns scars...as well as slide prone 
  areas such as highway 199 and portions of highway 101. 

precautionary/preparedness actions...

landslides and debris flows are possible during this flood event.
people...structures and roads located below steep slopes...in
canyons and near the mouths of canyons may be a serious risk from
rapidly moving landslides.a flood watch means there is a
potential for flooding based on current forecasts.

you should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. those living in areas prone to flooding should be

  areas...cascade foothills in lane county...coast range of west
  central oregon...coast of west central oregon...central
  willamette valley...northern oregon cascade foothills and south
  willamette valley.

* through late wednesday night.

* the onset of heavy rain tonight...combined with some snowmelt in
  the coast range and cascades foothills...will cause rises on
  rivers and creeks draining the coast range...and north oregon
  cascade foothills.

* rainfall amounts through thursday...1 to 2 inches in the central
  and southern willamette valley...4 to 7 inches in the coast and
  coast range of west central oregon...and 2 to 4 inches in the
  cascade foothills of north oregon and lane county.

* rivers of concern include...but are not limited to...the marys
  river in benton county...and the luckiamute river in polk and
  benton counties.
