...isolated thunderstorms possible friday night through
...gale force winds possible across the coastal waters friday
night through sunday...
a cold and vigorous storm system originating from the gulf of
alaska will bring a moist and unstable air mass along with the
potential for gale force winds and thunderstorms to the coastal
waters. gusty winds will increase friday night behind the cold
front with a chance of gale force winds in the outer coastal
waters. the cold air mass aloft associated with the storm will
move in quickly behind the cold front and bring a slight chance of
thunderstorms...mainly west and north of san nicolas island. any
thunderstorm that forms will be capable of producing locally gusty
winds and rough seas...dangerous lightning...heavy rainfall with
reduced visibility...and waterspouts.
mariners are advised to stay up-to-date on the weather for this
weekend. monitor noaa weather radio or your local media source for
the latest updates on this early season storm system. before
setting off and while underway...listen to noaa weather radio for
the latest warning and forecasts. if threatening weather develops
between friday night and sunday...mariners are urged to stay in
safe harbor until the weather improves.
