...significant snow possible for the southern mountains on friday
and saturday...
a moist and relatively warm weather system will bring a mixture of
rain and snow to southeast utah and southwest colorado friday and

significant accumulations. snow amounts of 4 to 8 inches above
8500 feet could be common with localized spots reaching 12 inches.
the snow level is expected to fluctuate between daytime and
nighttime. the snow level may start out at 6000 feet friday
morning...but is expected to rise between 8000 to 9000 feet during
the day. on friday night and saturday morning...the snow level
will lower to between 6000 to 7000 feet.
for the lower elevations below 6000 feet...rain is likely for the
valleys of southwest colorado and southeast utah on friday. rain
amounts may range from a quarter to one half inch of precipitation.
be aware of winter weather returning this weekend over the higher
elevations of the southern mountains. heavy wet snow could fall
