...small craft advisory in effect from 8 am saturday to 3 am pst
the national weather service in san diego has issued a small
craft advisory...which is in effect from 8 am saturday to 3 am
* winds...west 15 to 20 kt with gusts to 25 kt saturday
morning...becoming northwest 20 to 25 kt with gusts to 30 kt
early saturday evening...then becoming northwest 15 to 20 kt
with gusts to 25 kt late saturday evening.
* seas...combined seas of 5 to 9 feet. swell periods will be
between 8 and 10 seconds.
* impacts...the strong winds and steep seas will make for rough
boating conditions...especially for small craft.
* outlook...winds and seas should diminish by early sunday morning
and continue to lower as the day goes on.
a small craft advisory means that wind speeds of 21 to 33 knots
and combined seas of 10 feet or greater are expected to produce
hazardous wave conditions to small craft. inexperienced
mariners...especially those operating smaller vessels should
avoid navigating in these conditions.
