  downstream to confluence with the rock river.
* until friday morning.
* at  700 pm thursday the stage was 11.0 feet.
* action stage is 11.0 feet.
* flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* forecast...the river will continue to fall.

...the flood warning continues for the following rivers in 
illinois...kentucky...missouri...

  ohio river at cairo 
 
.the ohio rvier at cairo illinois continues to rise and is forecast
to crest early friday morning at 42.0 feet. after that...it will 
start to fall...and will go below flood stage sunday afternoon.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

safety message...

never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded 
areas. the water may be too deep to allow safe passage. never allow 
children to play in or near flood waters. stay tuned to noaa weather 
radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

* at  6:00 pm thursday the stage was 41.9 feet. 
* flood stage is 40.0 feet. 
* minor flooding is forecast.
* forecast...it will continue to rise to a crest near 42.0 feet
  early friday morning. the river will fall below flood stage
  sunday afternoon.
* impact...at 40.0 feet...minor flooding occurs affecting mainly 
  agricultural bottomland and low lying areas.
