...much cooler in the cascades with snow at times through this
weekend...
a cold front is moving through the cascades this morning...and
will bring sharply colder temperatures today versus the past
several days. precipitation is starting as rain early this morning
on the cascade passes...but snow levels will quickly fall below
pass level and as low as 3000 feet by mid morning. three to six
inches of new snow are expected by this evening as snow showers
persist in the cascades.
more cool weather systems are on the way...and snow levels will
likely remain near or below the cascade passes through the
weekend. while none of these systems appear particularly strong...
the potential will remain for accumulating snow at times for the
next several days. another 2 to 4 inches of snow are expected
wednesday...with another system expected to bring more snow later
friday and into the weekend.
travelers planning to drive across the cascades should carry
chains and be prepared for winter driving conditions.
