...very windy conditions along with blowing dust expected across
south central washington and north central oregon saturday...
.an intense storm system will move across the area and create
very windy conditions on saturday. sustained southwest wind
between 25 to 35 mph with gusts around 45 mph can be expected. the
winds will also create areas of blowing dust that will lower
visibilities to under one mile at times.

the national weather service in pendleton has issued a blowing
dust advisory...which is in effect from 9 am to 6 pm pdt
* visibilities...less than 1 mile at times. locally less than one
half mile near freshly plowed fields.
* winds...southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
* timing...the very windy and dusty conditions are expected to
develop saturday morning and persist into the early evening.
* impacts...high profile vehicles traveling along interstate
82...and interstate 84 should be prepared for possible strong
cross winds. motorists should be alert for rapidly changing
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a wind advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. winds
this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high
profile vehicles. use extra caution.
a blowing dust advisory means that blowing dust will restrict
visibilities. travelers are urged to use caution.
