the national weather service in jacksonville has issued a

* flood advisory for...
  southern columbia county in northern florida...
  southeastern suwannee county in northern florida...
  central gilchrist county in northern florida...

* until 700 am est

* at 405 am est...doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
  thunderstorms. this will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
  up to three inches of rain have already fallen.

* some locations that will experience flooding include...
  bell...ichetucknee spring...fort white...branford...guaranto
  springs...hildreth and grady.

additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected over the area. this
additional rain will make minor flooding.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams...country roads...farmland...and other low lying
spots.

  shoal river near crestview affecting okaloosa county. 

.recent heavy rains have caused significant rises along the river.

...flood warning extended until late thursday night...the flood warning 
continues for
  the shoal river near crestview
* from tomorrow late morning until late thursday night.
* at 7 pm monday the stage was 6.5 feet. 
* minor flooding is forecast. 
* flood stage is 8 feet.
* forecast to rise above flood stage by tomorrow late morning and continue to 
  rise near 9.7 feet by wednesday early afternoon. the river will fall below 
  flood stage by late thursday night.
* at 8 feet...minor flooding of low lying areas.

  southeastern taylor county in big bend of florida...
  southern lafayette county in big bend of florida...
  dixie county in big bend of florida...

* until 615 am est

* at 415 am est...doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
  thunderstorms. this will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

* doppler radar estimates of up to 5 inches of rainfall has fallen
  in the advised area.

* some locations that will experience flooding include...
  cross city...steinhatchee...horseshoe point...branford...
  horseshoe beach...guaranto springs...jena...tennille...
  cross city airport...hatch bend...shamrock...clara...grady...
  fletcher springs...fletcher...jonesboro...eugene and hines.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
