the flood warning continues for
  the northeast cape fear near burgaw.
* until thursday afternoon.
* at 9:30 am sunday the stage was 10.18 feet.
* flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* forecast...the river will continue rising to near 10.6 feet by early tuesday 
  afternoon. the river will fall below flood stage early thursday morning.
* impact...at 10.5 feet...flood waters cause minor flooding of croomsbridge road 
  and old maple hill road. some roads in river bend and river birch subdivsions 
  become impassable.

* at 7:00 am sunday the stage was 12.97 feet.
* flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* minor flooding is forecast.
* forecast...rise above flood stage by this afternoon and continue to rise to 
  near 13.2 feet by early tuesday morning. the river will fall below flood stage
  by wednesday morning.
* impact...at 13.0 feet...low land flooding will occur along the river. the flood
  waters may affect some residential property as water backs up into the 
  drainage ditches in the city.

  the neuse river at kinston.
* until further notice.
* at  9 am sunday the stage was 17.2 feet.
* minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* forecast...the river will continue rising to near 22.4 feet by 
  wednesday evening then begin falling.
* impact...at 23.0 feet...many homes and businesses southeast of 
  kinston will flood. highway 11 and numerous secondary roads will 
  become impassable. water will flood the rivermont area. in grifton,
  the contentnea creek will back up and cause flooding of homes and 
  businesses along water st. and highland blvd. water will inundate 
  some homes in tick bite.

  the contentnea creek near hookerton.
* until further notice.
* at  9 am sunday the stage was 18.7 feet.
* major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* forecast...the river will continue to fall to a stage of 18.1 feet 
  by tomorrow morning.
* impact...at 18.0 feet...water floods some homes along water street in 
  grifton as well as some businesses just to the east of the bridge 
  on highway 118. water will surround many homes in tick bite. 
  highway 123 just north of the bridge in hookerton will flood. water
  will threaten homes on loop road and four way road between snow hill
  and hookerton.
