...high waves over southern lake huron friday and friday night...
.a strong cold front will move through the central great lakes
tonight...triggering showers and isolated thunderstorms. strong
post frontal northerly winds of 15 to 25 knots are expected late
tonight and friday...with even a few gusts to 30 knots over the
open waters of lake huron as cooler air leads to deeper mixing
and greater instability. the long fetch over lake huron will lead
to good buildup of waves impacting the nearshore waters during
friday...slowly diminishing friday night as winds die off with
high pressure arriving over lower michigan saturday morning. the
high will slide east on saturday...with strong southwest flow
developing for the second half of the weekend...as sustained winds
of 15 to 25 knots are expected saturday night into sunday.

sustained winds up to 25 knots from the north with gusts up to
30 knots. the largest expected significant waves will be 7 feet
with a potential maximum wave height of 10 feet.
* timing: the maximum winds are expected around 11 am edt friday
with the largest waves expected around 1 pm edt friday.
