...a band of lake effect snow will affect southwestern cattaraugus
and southern chautauqua counties...

at 457 pm est, a band of lake effect snow producing snow fall rates
of up to 2 inches per hour will continue through early evening from
near ripley to chautauqua lake and frewsburg. this band will remain
nearly stationary, with just a slight drift to the northeast over
the next hour or two.

locations impacted include...
jamestown, lakewood, falconer, mayville, chautauqua institute,
jamestown west, long point state park, frewsburg and chautauqua.

this includes the following highways...
 interstate 90 near exit 61.
 interstate 86 between exits 6 and 13.

use extra caution if you must travel into or through this dangerous
snow squall. rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads
are likely to lead to accidents. consider delaying travel until the
squall passes your location.

...an intense snow squall will affect lake...northern trumbull...
ashtabula...geauga...northeastern cuyahoga and southwestern crawford
counties until 700 pm est...

at 503 pm est, radar indicated an intense snow squall extending
across extreme northeastern cuyahoga county towards chesterland, or
8 miles southwest of chardon, moving east at 20 mph. motorists
traveling on interstate 90 east of cleveland and interstate 271 near
highland heights should be especially careful. additional snow
squalls with abrupt reductions to visibility will continue at times
across northeast ohio this evening.

hazards include... visibility rapidly dropping to less than a
quarter of a mile with snowfall rates of up to 2 inches per hour.

locations impacted include...
painesville, ashtabula, willowick, meadville, conneaut, chardon,
jefferson, fairport harbor, geneva-on-the-lake, euclid, mentor,
cleveland heights, willoughby, eastlake, warrensville heights,
cortland, geneva, south russell and madison.

rapidly reduce visibility to less than a quarter of a mile.

location and movement...at 541 pm est, a snow squall was along a
line extending from near bradford, southeast to near lock haven, and
northwest of lewisburg. little movement of this band of snow showers
and squalls is expected this evening. 

this squall will be near...
  mill hall, castanea and flemington around 550 pm est. 
  carroll around 605 pm est. 
  spruce run reservoir around 615 pm est. 

for those driving on interstate 80, this includes areas between the
lock haven and lewisburg-williamsport exits, specifically from mile
markers 178 to 201.
