precautionary/preparedness actions...

the combination of high temperatures and high humidity will
combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned
room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives and
neighbors.

take extra precautions...if you work or spend time outside. when
possible...reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or

 * temperatures will quickly climb to around 90 by noon today with
   highs this afternoon in the lower to middle 90s. temperatures
   will quickly drop this evening as a cold front drops through
   the area. 

 * heat index values will reach 95 to 100 degrees again this 
   afternoon. 

impacts...

 * the extended duration of heat will lead to uncomfortable to 
   potentially hazardous conditions, particularly for the 
   elderly and those with pre-existing health conditions. 

precautionary/preparedness actions...

a heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. the combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned
room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives and
neighbors.

evening...

* temperatures rise to between 90 and 95 this afternoon with 
  heat indices around 100 for several hours. 

impacts...

* keep in mind that heat indices are in areas with at least some 
  shading. people in full sunshine could experience heat indices 
  several degrees warmer. 

* clouds may thicken over far southern lower michigan into 
  northern indiana and northwest ohio and help bring a little 
  cooler conditions. 

precautionary/preparedness actions...

temperatures inside a vehicle can be significantly higher than
