I got one of these for my slalom sails. As many know they are under a lot of tension. And iit is nice to do on the water adjustment if needed. However first time rigging it, the line was slipping in the winch. And I didn’t even have the down haul fully set. So I was getting ready to send it back. Until I swapped the line with the good ole chinook line (black and blue....it’s chinook to me). AnywAy now it works perfectly. Was able to set downhaul 100%. I guess the line they sent was too small in dia. Originally tried a smaller dia than what was supplied which was worse.

Still have to test it in water.....as this was done in my yard.

I write this as a tip to the peanut gallery....Smile

I should email ‘whoever’ and say their line doen’t Work.

Been using them for about 8 years on my slalom sails. Love the ability to fine tune the downhaul. No slipping issues so far - now I've jinxed myself! Shocked

Replace your "V" SS spring. They get weak, depending how often you use em....

I find the shock absorber is good for a few extra mph in chop as I can stay sheeted in for longer before I feel too much on the edge of control.

Do they ever get jammed with sand? That is my main concern, otherwise, I like the idea.

i've used the Power.XT quite a bit in sandy conditions. It still works great. Going on two years with my RDM extension now, and it's even seen a trip to San Carlos which is great cuz you can detention your sails over night and not have to re-rig the next day. Only bad thing is that some of the paint has worn off, so sometimes it's hard to see what extension setting I'm using.
