Launching in the surf off the beach or paddling at broadsides to windswell could be more than challenging, but exploring about in lakes and protected waterways would be fun on weekends and holidays. Needless to say though, it just might be a quite handful getting it on and off the top of your full sized SUV on your own.

I SUP a lot, and have seen these in action. They're surprisingly fast, at least as fast as a regular SUP, but I believe one assembled weighs upwards of 53 pounds (my 12' SUP weighs 27), and there's some assembly required each time you use it. Might be good for those with MILD balance issues like the OP said, but I'll stick with my plain board, which I can also surf! Hobie also $1800.

Fast? Check.
Heavy? A big problem.
MILD balance issue? Never mind.

Thanks for the feedback.
