I have been using marine grade synthetic or natural enviro friendly grease for my foil connections: mast head to deep tuttle, fuse to foil wings, mast to fuse, mast to board brackets, so they don't seize and become difficult to separate. this can be a bit messy coating these elements and then taking them apart after sessions or for travel. Also I am about to spend more time in salt water. So what do people recommend concerning dry lubricant alternatives to marine grease in salt and fresh water such asTeflon Fluoropolymer, or silicone sprays or hybrids of the two.... been using dry lube on bike chains but unsure if suitable for marine environment, and for carbon and aluminum components and mixed material connections...

Same question regarding bolts too. I use teflon tape which makes them more secure....

1. Tefgel.
2. Any marine dry lube.
ALL are a mess, need changing after 10 days.

Tef-Gel

Not cheap but it’s one of the best products out there.

I’ve had foils assembled for months in salt water and they come apart just fine. If you keep taking your foils apart then you’ll need to apply it more often. Rinse off your foil with fresh water after each session.

Whatever you use, make sure you don't get on the wings. Clean the wings and stab afterwards. Greasy spots, fingerprints, etc on the wing encourage ventilation. You'll find your wing much less tolerant of being close to the surface.
