Are they good to go or no? Are they the future of wetsuits?

Here's one of several threads on that general topic.

Yes!
I have an O'Neill Hyperfreak 4/3 zipless. It is a really nice suit and super stretchy, but it is slightly more of a wriggle to get into than my usual chest zip suits - in context, that is probably 10 seconds longer than a chest zip which takes 5 seconds longer than a back zip. Certainly with my Hyperfreak, the extra time is needed to get the get the baffles in the right place.

There is definitely a technique to putting on a chest zip suit which is even more true with a zipless - you can't just chuck it on and hope it sorts itself out.

Without directly comparing identical suits as chest zip and as a zipless, it is hard to say there are any (windsurfing) advantages to the lack of zip. I wouldn't get another zipless.

Based on previous discussions; I get the sense that larger or less mobile people tend to avoid chest zips and so, if you are in that category, I would definitely avoid a zipless.

As an aside - fit is far, far more important than zip configuration, or lack thereof.

it really depends on your body geometry and the cut/fit/construction of the wetsuit. Not all front zip/no zip suits are created/designed equal. I've had some that are super easy to put on and take off and some that are near impossible. Try before you buy if you can. Half of my suits are of the no zip variety, and half are front zip... have a couple older ones that are back zip.
