This guy is scum. But he was "nice" to Trump. Criminals stick together.

Quote:
By Ken Stone
Two months after resigning from Congress after a guilty plea in his corruption case, Duncan Hunter was sentenced Tuesday to 11 months in prison.

Judge Thomas Whelan in San Diego federal court gave the former six-term Republican three months less than the penalty recommended by federal prosecutors in the nearly 2-year-old case.

Hunter must surrender by May 29, Whelan said, despite a prosecution request that he be remanded to prison immediately.

Hunter’s legal team had recommended 11 months home confinement and 1,000 hours of community service. His father — the former Congressman Duncan Lee Hunter — and son, Duncan Lee Hunter II, made written appeals for leniency.

A spokesman for the ethics watchdog that helped jump-start the Hunter investigation told Times of San Diego: “The government asked for 14 months. Hunter asked for 0 months. He got 11 months.”

“The American people got justice,” said Jordan Libowitz, communications director for CREW, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.

Devin Burstein, a Hunter lawyer, said in a statement: “The Court saw this case for what it was. Far from the attack on democracy the government claimed, this was simply about misspending. There was no fraud, bribery, or theft of taxpayer money.”

....Congressman Hunter violated the trust of his supporters by using hundreds of thousands of dollars they donated in good faith to his reelection campaign for personal expenditures,” said David Leshner, attorney for the United States.

More "winning":

President Trump promised in the 2016 campaign to eliminate the federal debt over a two-term presidency. That pledge won't come to fruition, and, in fact, he will leave office having added massively to the debt.

“His tenure has been marked by a total disregard for any concern about mounting debt,” said Jim Capretta, a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, a right-leaning think tank in Washington, D.C.

When Trump was inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2017, the total national debt was nearly $20 trillion, according to the Treasury Department. It has increased over roughly 30% since, nearly $8 trillion, to $27 trillion, as of Monday.

For comparison, President Barack Obama added roughly $9 trillion to the national debt during his eight years in office, according to the Treasury Department.

The contrarian from Virginia will post some counterpoint. He, like most Republicans, only object to debt when Democrats are in the White House.

It’s only a matter of time before Donald Trump is arrested.
Everyone in New York City who has actually known him for the last 20 years knows that he is a Conman and a liar and a thief.
It is only a matter of time before Donald Trump is arrested. Just like the Manhattan DA eventually got John Gotti, they will get Donald Trump.

The deficit is rich peoples problem. You gave the Rich a 2 Trillion tax cut and nothing for the working poor, the average American does not own any stock, the stock market is not indicative of the plight of Americans. Trickle down economics is a lie and proven to not work. Tax the rich. F U. Trump is basically a big right-wing hustle whose business model depends largely on exploiting white male identity politics and irrational, reactionary fears in order to bilk anxious conservative men out of lots of money. Trump is a very small minded human being, supported by other small minded human beings. It’s a symbiotic relationship that makes them feel validated, but they know on some level how small they are. Trump took the rich poor white racists to the cleaners for the last 4 years . And they don’t even realize it. Love and Prayers. Most dangerous man ever and threat to our country. Besides being a Pussy grabber, con man, fraud, bankruptcy king, money launderer, tax cheat, chronic liar , draft dodger and thug. Republicans say the environment can take care of itself as Trump and his big industry friends unravel environmental protections because of ignorance, gullibility, white nationalism, religious zealotry and hypocrisy and last but not least, greed. Christian fascists.
Republicans removed the checks, balances and safety net put in place to prevent another big recession.
Ludlow and Mnuchin are the inspector closeau's of international finance. The wiseguys who now dominate the daily trading on Wall Street — the hedge funds and private equity funds — typically put down $1 or $2 of their own and their investors’ money for every $10 worth of the securities they purchase.
What that means is that when prices for these securities fall 10 percent or 20 percent, the bank or hedge fund or private equity firm that lent the money for the original trade, or took the other side of the derivative contract, has the right to demand additional cash. The only way to get that cash is to sell something. And in that way, selling begets more selling.
This hurts the average working people with a normal savings goal.
If you have more than 3 percent of your investment in any one stock, you are just gambling. Everyone thought they were a financial genius the last 10 years, everything went up, that was not normal.
I go with the age based investing.
If you are in REIT or commercial mortgage backed securities you are fucked, they are down 80 percent and getting margin calls to come up with more money because they leveraged their bets. fuckers.
The 2008 SNAFU, many should have should have been jailed and no bailouts, that bailout was corporate socialism.
Trump spent his years in office helping himself and the wealthy, and when the pandemic hit, Trump tanked the economy in absolute terms. Yet again, the pro-Trump commentariat is called upon to prove Trump’s unfounded claims. Trump lost and there will never be another republican president ever again because the republicans party sucks after they kowtowed to Trump.

The words rambling, unfocused and unsound do spring to mind! That, ladies, is why one should always, always, resist the temptation rant in public while "enjoying" the effects of strong substances.

When even Jennifer Rubin thinks that Trump has committed another impeachable offense--he has. Expect apologists to try to divert attention.
