techno900,
I can see that you have no problem regurgitating specious Republican talking points. I think that we all know that Republicans don't have a laudable record of supporting suitably qualified candidates. Just look at the last three that were rammed down our throats. All they are looking for is the seal of approval from The Federalist Society. You know, a list of activist conservative candidates that will readily enact their radically biased agenda.
Let's say that President Biden never mentioned the fact that he wanted to select a black woman for the Supreme Court, but in the end ultimately nominated Jackson. Would you have had a problem with that? Would an unquestionably qualified black woman like Jackson be acceptable? |

Teach knows in his heart of hearts that ACB was not the most qualified candidate, but his religious leanings won't permit him to say it.
Are you pro-choice Teach?
Probably another question he will refuse to answer. God help your students! Pun intended. LOL |

Isn’t it amazing how disapproval of black officials is always described by “conservatives” with code? Look at the language Techno—or Isobars, or anyone else on the right uses to hate on Kamala Harris, or Jackson or Obama. But Louis Gomert, the stupidest man in Congress, or Marjorie Taylor Greene—stupid, ill-informed, and mean? Crickets. White folks—no complaints. I like beer? Crickets.
Techno—nobody is fooled. |

And when you live in a binary world, you can't possibly understand how these two things make sense. People from North Carolina, inured to the smell of pig shit lagoons, probably have no idea that agriculture--like shipping almonds to China--uses 75% of California's water. Subsidized by urban water users. |

If California was only so lucky to have a few pig waste lagoons overflow in a hurricane, compared to everything you guys have to endure. The complexities in Calif. are self imposed. Like the $87 million dollar bridge in LA for a few mountain lions to cross the 101 to find a mate. Environmentalists seem to run the show. |

Who is paying for it?
Officials noted that it has taken years to raise awareness and the money to make the project a reality.
“This is an unprecedented project that Los Angeles should be incredibly proud of,” said Beth Pratt, regional executive director in California for the National Wildlife Federation who has been working on the project for almost a decade. “Back then it was just an idea.”
The nonprofit federation has managed to raise more than $72 million so far from more than 4,000 private, philanthropic and corporate donors around the world for their #SaveLACougars campaign. Those funds include a $25-million challenge grant from Wallis Annenberg and the Annenberg Foundation. The federation hopes to raise $6 million more by the end of the year to cover construction costs.

Bitter old men from the heart of tobacco country would rather see autocrats and oil companies running the show. What’s a little cancer among friends? |
