Received such sad news today through Facebook.
I bought a board from Wind-NC last year and personally met Andy for the first time when was picking up the board at his house in VT. He was so helpful with some unexpected obstacles during the purchase and passionate when talking about sailing. Such kind person. He will be missed.

Very sad news. I never had the good fortune to meet Andy IRL but he was always positive and helpful online. |

I also enjoyed Andy’s posts on this forum. I had the opportunity to sail with him once during a trip to OBX around 2010. There was one very windy day blowing 3.5 - 4.0 at the Canadian Hole with only a few sailors out. It was a fun session and he was throwing forward loops off of the chop. Anyway, from my brief interaction, it was obvious that he was a very nice guy and very passionate about windsurfing.
It’s very sad to see that he has passed.

very sad indeed.
my experiences were limited to many email and phone conversations about gear. He always went above and beyond in helping me out (and gave me great deals too !). A super nice guy. RIP Andy. |

sad indeed
had many conversations and discussions with and met the fellow in 2015 during my one and only trip to Hatteras (so far) ...
he was NOT well then and recovering, but I never asked what it was
remember he was back on the water as soon as he could
for me he was another one of those people who devote their lives to family (his daughter was running around the shop) and windsurfing to the point of trying to put more ppl on the water !!
during my next session on the water I will think of you Andy !!
and wish you well on your next journey !! |

Always enjoyed stopping in his shop to check out new gear and pick up odds and ends. Always willing to share info on the less frequented sailing spots on Hatteras. Really loved his blog - "Lost in Hatteras" which you can still find on line. A really sad loss to our sailing community and his family and friends. |
