My car (Honda CRV) was broken into today between 3-5pm. Car was parked on the dirt not far from the restrooms. Credit card was stolen and the lock damaged. Be careful!

yuup.. it appears that the car break in's in the bay area continue to be an issue.. Alameda, 3rd streeet, coyote... etc... I guess the drive to Sherman Island is worth it. you can leave your hatch back wide open and no issues..

That's terrible... sorry to hear that jmarik, thanks for heads up. Coachdzcali, I was a little surprised to hear your mention of break ins at Alameda and Coyote. I would have thought these would be relatively safe, especially if inside the Crown Beach park in Alameda or the park at Coyote. Any more info about Alameda and Coyote break ins? Thanks.

what I had heard on Alameda is that the thieves are waiting till you are all rigged up and then hit your car when you are on the water

You failed to mention your sign on the side that says, "There are 3 rattlesnakes and Alex Baldwin loose inside. Tell me, Punk ... do ya feel LUCKY?"

Or........thieves are not looking for watersports gear, they're looking for black mystery bags and cellphones...

Funny I saw that at the stick this year too. A fellow windsurfer left the back hatch of his Mercedes van completely open unintentionally while out sailing. No issues.
On a different occasion, one of the locals found an electric air pump in the park. He asked me if any of us wingers had left it there overnight.
Stranger things have happened.
