I’m a first year wingfoiler curious about getting a new foil as I’m increasingly aware of the drag of the foil, especially as the wind gets above 20 mph. I’m around 140 lbs and have been on a 95L board and Slingshot Infinity 76 foil (low aspect, ~ 1500 cm2). I’m looking to get a more medium aspect ratio foil, with less area (maybe 1000-1200 cm2?). I’d like to hear people’s experience with various medium aspect ratio foils, what characteristics you liked or didn’t like about them to help me decide what to get. I can pretty reliably jibe; I’d like to start learning how to ride swell; and pumping and getting up on foil is not a strength of mine. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Most logical and cheapest is i65 or other smaller SS foil with smaller stab.
Here at Berkeley, there are over 10 Armstrong riders, a handful of Naish and Axxis, Starboard, and a few Sabfoil riders, most with quivers of front wings and stabs.
They all work well.

I am 185 lb and went from a 1800 low aspect to a 1280 medium aspect F-One and it works great for me above 20mph. This is my first season and I felt the big 1800 was a problem in higher winds.
