Hi,

I am looking for a replacement lever for a pre-2000 (?) Gulftech Pro Race boom, similar to this one:
https://www.iwindsurf.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=357146&sid=75b5fdb5e7fe36a7985492be703eaf9e
because the cleat on the boom that I just picked up is corroded and cracked.

If there is a compatible replacement lever, please post.

Thank you very much.

Edit: This is my first post on this board. Read a lot already and finally made an account. Lots and lots of useful info in this non-political part of the board.

And another photo, which shows the sad state of the cleat.

Check with Sailworks. They sell a Streamlined front end that might work for you

Thanks! Eventually, I will cut this head clean and mount a Streamlined boom head.

I think that you're making a mistake thinking that you can simply trim-off a part of the existing Gulftech front end and mount the Streamlined front end. The Gulftech front end is curved, and under the molded plastic is aluminum tubing that is bonded in the boom arms. I know this because I've broken many Gulftech front ends in the past due to corrosion.

Now, if you totally cut off the Gulftech front end and remove (dissolve) the aluminum tubing inside the carbon boom arms, you can bond in a replacement carbon connecting component to provide a viable mounting configuration. From what I understand Bob Thompson has some of these.

Once you've done that you can mount either a Streamlined or Maui Sails front end. Speaking for myself, the Maui Sails front end is best. It's an awesome product that is bullet proof, and it's quite a bit cheaper in price too. Streamlined's front end is made from aluminum, and that's a no go for me.
