on the eve of yet another atmospheric river (enough already!), our fair lake has reached 260,000acft, or approx 46%, not seen since 2019. Plus the dam repairs are completed, and we have enough snow stashed in our watershed to fill the lake twice over. That's the good news.
The bad news is that we cannot get close enough to it to dip a toe into this magnificence, let alone sail on it: Forest Service in their ultimate wisdom decided to close all local lands under their jurisdiction, because the Kern river did some damage to beaches and a park in Kernville; and Lake Patrol closed the lake to mull over the debris field resulting from last week's monster flows.
I'll let you know when we re-open.
the indignity, to have this amazing bounty after the drought years - and not be able to avail oneself...

We saw on the news about the flooding in Kernville. The rive out flow looked incredible. Glad your safe. That said, we hope the best for the people that did have issues. Tony
