It absolutely wasn't necessary. Had oil been at $40 and stable, Trump as president, and an intelligent negotiation in the beginning NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED. Putin's nose was rubbed in shit by Biden. The talk of Ukraine joining Nato was Putin's call to arms. There is no doubting this. |

I don't think we'll see this in the USA for at least a couple years. But even that is too soon for comfort.
