Bailed Rig in Self rescue at Marina Park, Hood River

Hey all,

We had an incident of a windsurfer having to self rescue and bailing on the rig. Windsurfer is okay, this was primarily caused due to the big cruise ship that moors at the marina not giving warning that it was leaving dock, making it impossible for a beginner to beam reach back towards the marina entrance or to where the boat was currently moored.

It’s a 4.2m 2018 S2 Maui Dragon sail with white Severne boom.
