They are calling for 25-30 tomorrow, with a 10 foot swell March swell.
My throat is getting scratchy, I feel a fever comin on, and I can’t think straight. No way Im going to work tomorrow.
See you kids when our Winter fat covered bodies are panting after scuttled gear in the break zone. |

If it fills in properly, I think Newport offers the best sheltered wave sailing. The orientation of the Jetty (Southward) allows you to ride ever larger waves as you move farther and farther south from the jetty. Closer to jetty = smaller waves. Farther from the jetty = bigger wave. Newport, however, is often less windy than Florence or Lincoln City, both of which can be rather unforgiving on a big swell. Good luck.

I dont know who you are, but youre my kind of sailor. I wanted Florence in the worst way but was scared of the tight, large sets grounding me into crab food. How was the wave? Although it was sketchy, were you able to feel out the wave shape? Is the sand bar better or worse? Drop me a line on the iwindsurf email. Were always looking for coast partners.
