After work on Monday afternoon I saw the NW winds picking up and decided to try for a sunset session. I took the advice to hit Jamestown beach in a Northwesterly and wasn't dissapointed. Crossing over the Jamestown bridge I saw just one windsurfer taking advantage of the great conditions, it was all I needed to get stoked, join in, and get the perfect 40 minute sunsett session in after a long day.
Thank you, Chrissim for the great tip! And thanks to the other wsurfer out there showing me the way.
Hope to see more folks out in an Nwesterly!

DC-
Glad you hit it. I was at Ninigret and didn't get a chance to savor the sweeet NW. It was blowing like hell when I left. I might try Quonset tomorrow if the numbers start hitting mid teens. See you on the water. |

I belive it is called Potter's Cove. It's at the intersection of Seaside Dr. and Frigate St. on the west side of Jamestown. There is a boat launch past the grassy area. Watch for big rocks 75 to 100 ft out at 11 and 12 o'clock from the end of the short jetty.
Have fun. |
