|
|
I was windsurfing there in January or February on a Santa Ana Winds day. Thermal wind was blowing about 15 on side shore.
The died out.
Carryed rig to wash rack.
Started blowing side off shore about 18knots gusty.
Walked back out and had an awesome flat water speed session. And if there were waves it would have been a good wave riding session.
**Does this happen alot?? Or is this rare.......and if it does happen often, how do you time it?.....because Huntington Beach would have world class waves/wind if this happens. |

it happens 5/6 times a year mostly after a rain storm. the clearing winds start from the west and switch to the north west. side off shore. it can blow very hard for several hrs. at least 2 days this year it was 40 to 50 mph. i find that the normal south west winds are the better sailing. not as gusty and tend to last longer when they blow...happy sailing...tony
ps i have a 2007 ezzy 6.5 infinity used one time ....350 bucks if your interested....tanovak@sbcglobal.net |
