Hi everyone,
I,m finally taking the family and going to cabarete-wooo-hoooo!
Just wondering if any of you have any reccomendations of special interest-such as absolute-must see or dos.
Im going with my wife and 2 sons who are 11 and 14.
We will be going in the middle of April.
Thanks for your input.

You absolutely have to go canyoning. Not sure if they take kids as young as yours though. Ask at the windsurf center when you get there.
You can take the kids to the south end of town and go exploring in the caves there.
You should all take some surfing lessons together. Playa Encuentro is an incredible surfing beach for all level surfers, including complete beginners.
So much to do there, youll love it. The staff at the windsurf center can tell you about everything else there. |

The sea kayaking is fun (in lower winds) and there are some great places to eat out on the beach. For breakfast, try some of the German run bakeries in town (look for the crowds of supermodels). If youre winsurfing, just stay away from the reefs. Dont sail so close that if you fall, youll end up drifting into it! Theyre easy to see so its not a big problem. If you want to teach your kids, try Bonaire next year. Use your room safe no matter where you are, though and keep track of your money! We were robbed last week there, but Id still recommend it. Bonaire is the most perfect facility for learning Ive ever seen! |

HI: I went there in 2000 and found a great park with caves. Even went swimming 70 feet below earth. Run by old timers from Canada. Rented taxi - they are all bikes and they took us through a dirt road village to the park. Anyone in town will know. |
