Any body sailed out there? Thinking it would be pretty good this weekend with the southerly storm? |

N and S beaches should be almost straight offshore, with small enough swell if you want to deal with gusty winds.
Drakes should be straight onshore, closeout tiny shorepound.
CoastGuardStation would be side on, sailing in deep, but flat waters just inside ChimneyRock.
Limantour would be side to side on, the best bet, but it closes out shorepound close to shore in high tides, and outgoing is late in the day.
McClures and Kehoe same as N and S, but gustier and holier.
Tomales can be OK, given enough wind, but some eel grass even at high tides all day...ChickenRanch on SE, regular launches on S or SSW.
Palo gets too choppy, from long fetch, even if it's SSE, and swell is too small to get in regularly.
Dillon can be good, even with this small a swell, but you gotta pay the toll to park and it can be kinda lonely.
Seems the winds are hitting the buoys, but nothing near shore yet as of 5PM, so CG at Drakes the most westerly spot.
Some guys go to Agate, launching off the rivermouth in the middle of the crescent shaped beach.
Bolinas doesn't seem to get a S accelerate.
Stinson on the S end off the cliffs can be OK, but the winds diffuse as you head up N on S winds. |

Bolinas is fun in a storm and have sailed a few times.
Usually not that hairy getting out and I have always been the only one sailing. Side on and getting out takes a little work but fun. |

linda mar is gusty and side off/off shore. if it is big the south end is only option. but when it is small you can sail the north end where it is less off shore and better. Saturday was sailable all most of the day. |
